About What’s Kraken

A San Diego guide to the food and drink specials, live music and special events worth going out for — made for adults who want to know what’s on this week without scrolling a dozen Instagram pages.

What you’ll find

• Food and drink specials — happy hours, taco nights and other real deals with a price or discount.
• Live music, trivia, karaoke and games at bars and restaurants around town.
• Special events — festivals, street fairs, markets and more.

How it works

We read what venues post on their own websites and social pages, and what local event listings publish, and pull out the details. Then every listing is checked — by automated checks first, then by a person where it isn’t clear-cut — before it shows up here. We’d rather leave something out than show you a vague or wrong listing.

Please double-check

Specials and event times change, and venues don’t always tell us. Before you head out, tap through to the venue’s own post or call ahead. If something is out of date, hit Report a problem on that listing — it takes a few seconds and doesn’t need your name or email.

We’re in beta

What’s Kraken is new and we’re improving it every week. Tell us what’s missing or wrong, or join the beta list to hear when we open up.

Venues and organizers

Spotted a listing for your place that needs correcting, or want something removed? Contact details will be added before launch, or use Report a problem on the listing.

What’s Kraken is an independent project and isn’t affiliated with, or endorsed by, the venues it lists.
